Eastside Amateur Radio Service is in the VE testing business. We have a great group of volunteers led by Jason N5HSE. We follow the ARRL rules. If you take your test with us and pass your new license or upgrade will be turned by Jason within 24 hours. Many who test with us see their upgrade or new license in the FCC database in 1 to 3 days.
Thanks to all you VEs for giving up a little of your Saturday every other month. We have built a good team and will continue to grow our roster so that we can handle any testing situation. Thanks to the team yesterday and congrats to Charlie for getting his Extra. Paperwork has been submitted to the VEC. Going forward I'll be tracking/providing metrics on our test sessions and VE participation. - Jason N5HSE 10-16-2022

The CDARC hosted a Digital Training event on Saturday February 5th at the Agave Mexican Restaurant in Cleveland, Texas. Terry KG5ENK and Robert N5BSB provided the training. There was a full line of popular Yaesu digital radios, a working WiresX node, and several PI-Star MMDVM hotspots built by Ron KI5GNL on hand. Robert and Terry gave an awesome presentation and answered questions. The goal was to help hams new to digital or with no digital experience understand some of the different terminologies and technology that makes up digital modes. Ron KI5GNL and Wes W5WES were in attendance from the EARS group.
We had a great turnout of Hams today at the Agave Mexican Restuarant for the C4FM digital traing event.
WB5HZM was at the event today. Steve is the Trustee of the Coldspring repeaters and one of the early adopters of the Texas Patriots 60755 room.
Hams like to talk! And when the meeting was over we all had some great Mexican food.
Everyone had a great time and we all learned a thing or two.
The Eastside Amateur Radio Service participated in the 2022 winter field day this year. We set up at Bayland Park next to the boat ramp. It was a gorgeous day and propagation was very good for HF. Most of us stayed all night and it was a little on the cold side but we were prepared for the conditions. We operated as 3O meaning we had 3 stations set up outdoors. We actually had 5 stations set up. We are still tabulating our total contacts for the event. We had plenty of hot coffee, snacks, and great fellowship both on the air and in person.
