The coax you see in this photo was pulled loose by and EF3 tornado that came through on January 24th 2023. The winds overturned trains on the tracks next door.
This is our 7/8 hard line that goes into the building. Waiting on the new new feed line to be connected to this end and to the antenna.
Another shot of the hard line. Tower crew had to climb down and come back the next day due to high winds and rain.
This is our repeater antenna - its a Diamond X710HNA
Storm track from Jan 24th 2023 tornado
When the tower climbers went up the weather was clear and it looked good on the radar. An hour later it was raining hard and windy. Gotta love Texas weather!
We had our first club meeting of 2023 at NE5TX David's home on Saturday 1-14-23. We met at 9:30am and did VE testing. Congratulations to Ray Howell KI5ZCD for upgrading to general and Len Atherton for passing the technician test. After the VE testing was completed we had a very productive hamfest planning meeting. We are still looking for additional volunteers for the hamfest. Please contact Lamar KC5AOI if you would like to volunteer.
